The Night We Met – Part 2

After that night, I was stuck in disbelief,
A little bit stunned, but absurdly relieved.
I thought, Well, that happened—now where do we stand?
One night, one adventure, one slightly odd plan.

I’d never moved quite so quickly before,
So surely, I figured, there’d be no encore.
It was what it was; I expected goodbye,
And mentally filed you under “Well… worth the try.”

But then came your texts, all excited and bright,

As if our first chapter had ended too light.
So naturally, foolishly, happily, me—
Agreed to a sequel. Well… we shall see.

The following week, there we were once again,
Two people pretending we knew where it will end.
We laughed, we talked, and the evening flew,
Which, inconveniently, made me like you.

Then out we went, awaiting our ride,
When suddenly rain came pouring outside.
And there we stood, damp with nowhere to go,
While the sky apparently put on a show.

And somehow, amidst all that wet-weather sass,

I kissed your cute face while the minutes passed.
A moment that, for me, felt strangely profound—
While you may have thought, “Uh… is this rain coming down?”

I’m not convinced that the feeling was shared,
Or that little kiss landed quite where I cared.
But someone understood it—the manager, at least—
Who watched through the glass with the grin of a beast.

There we stood in the rain, looking hopelessly sweet,
Like two soggy romantics without dry feet.
He laughed from inside as we stood in the storm—
Perhaps he knew something about our new norm.

So was it a fling? Was it more than a chance?
Was this merely a sequel to a one-night romance?
