She walked away from a house where her heart had learned to ache,
From years of silent suffering and promises that seemed to break.
She chose the road of loneliness, though freedom came with cost,
For sometimes saving your own soul means mourning what you’ve lost.
And in her arms, her daughter grew, her reason to persist,
She made sure those eyes still saw a world worth being kissed.
Though money came in meager sums and bills stood like a wall,
She stretched each dollar, gave her best, and somehow gave it all.
Then jealous voices circled close, disguised as those who cared,
They sought to wound her personal life and ruin what she’d shared.
They tried to stain her reputation, undermine her work,
And hoped beneath their whispered lies she’d finally lose her nerve.
She worked beneath the weight of days that never seemed to bend,
Then faced the whispered rumors that these people would send.
They smiled like friends, then sharpened words behind her back,
And tried to stain her name, her work, her every track.
They wanted her to doubt herself, to crumble from the strain,
To question every victory and drown herself in shame.
They tugged at threads of personal life and professional pride,
But couldn’t see the strength she kept carefully tucked inside.
For she was like a lioness trapped inside a tiny cage,
With fury in her breathing and a patience born of fate.
The cage could bruise her spirit, could make the nights feel long,
But it could never take the wildness from her song.
She paced beneath the ceiling, dreaming of an open sky,
While those who feared her courage hoped they’d watch her spirit die.
But lions do not cease to be because the bars are strong;
They learn the shape of every cage—and learn to carry on.
The lioness rises with every setback, with each rumor, lie, and scar,
For survival is a victory when you remember who you are.
